Integrity, A School of Character

Our Philosophy

When we started, our goal was simply to gather, spend time outside, and focus on character education. Since then, we have embraced the influence of Charlotte Mason, a British educator in the late 19th century and created a robust offering designed to enrich the lives of the homeschooling families in our community.

Charlotte Mason believed that every child is a person, born with innate potential and  individuality rather than an empty vessel to be filled up. We agree that a liberal  education—rich in history, literature, science, art, and nature—offers children the  breadth and depth to discover their strengths and grow into their unique abilities and  that by exposing children to a wide variety of ideas and experiences, we give them the  freedom to connect deeply with the areas that resonate most with them, equipping them  not only for work but for meaningful and fulfilling lives.

For Mason, faith wasn't a separate subject but the very lifeblood of a true education,  leading to a personal, intimate, and practical relationship with God through all of life's  experiences and knowledge. We believe that the Bible is the primary source of spiritual truth and moral ideas and that faith is about encountering God as a living Person through living books, glory in nature, and living ideas such as truth, justice and beauty,  all fostering intimacy with Him.

She also believed that children under the age of six should be outdoors often and allowed abundant time to play. All of our offerings reflect this philosophy and thus cultivate a lasting love of learning.

“We spread an abundant and delicate feast… and each small guest assimilates what he can.”
